JUSTINA SHANDLER is a singer-songwriter and composer for media, originally from Roanoke, VA. Her songs have been described as the music baby of Regina Spektor and Billy Joel. Justina's musical stories are deeply honest, vivid, and quirky.

Justina’s songs have been lauded in international competitions and by leading industry professionals. In 2012, she won first place in both Indie International Songwriting Contest’s rock category for “Someone Else’s Bed” and in the renowned UK Songwriting Contest’s love song category for “If You Ever Miss Me.” In 2013, she was a finalist in the Mountain Stage New Song Contest; the following year, she was a co-winner of Carnegie Hall’s Songwriting Contest. In 2015, Justina was selected as one of ten songwriter finalists to perform on the main stage at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in Lyons, CO and won third place. Most recently, Justina's song, "The Mailman" was selected as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the Childrens' Music category.

Justina has worked with songwriters Craig Carothers, Jon Lind, Lari White and Craig Carnelia, and with film composers Chris Boardman, Jay Vincent and Chuck Henry. She has performed her original songs at Lincoln Center and Rockwood Music Hall in New York (with members of Sara Bareilles' band), at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, and at various comedy clubs in Los Angeles. She regularly performs at local south Florida venues and has a permanent weekly gig in Coconut Grove.

Justina’s film work has earned her credits in the Internet Movie Database. She and fellow composer Steven Gizzi scored the short film, "Gwyndor," written by Dixie Perkinson and Nathalie Antonia, and directed by David Crabtree. The film has received high recognition and was screened at Hollyshorts Film Festival at the Grauman Chinese Theater. Justina continues to write songs for filmmakers in Los Angeles, and is now writing music for iPhone apps.

Currently pursuing her Masters degree in Media Writing and Production, Justina is also a teaching assistant at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. She has been spending this summer teaching songwriting, writing music for her upcoming album, and preparing for her tour in late July.

Justina’s 9-track EP, Three Leaf Clover, was released in June 2015 and can be purchased on iTunes and streamed on Spotify. Justina's upcoming EP, Four Left Feet, will be recorded this summer and released in Fall 2016.
