The Mayhem Begins May 1st.
IS YOUR CREATIVITY ROTTING IN A METAPHORICAL BASEMENT?
TBH, same. Let’s do something about it. The world is on fire and we can’t afford to allow our fear to call the shots anymore. The Unhinged Creative Challenge is calling you. This is not paint-by-number or promise of anything remotely perfection-adjacent. This is a violent, messy, glorious creative reckoning.
For 5 short weeks, we are:
🔮 Burying perfectionism alive in an unmarked grave.
🔮 Conducting a séance to summon your best ideas (they’ve been waiting for you).
🔮 Unleashing raw, unfiltered art—so real your inner critic will need therapy.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
If you’re creatively stuck and sick of overthinking instead of actually making stuff—this is for you.
If you’ve felt sheepish identifying as a writer, musician, or poet. You know you have it in you but wish you had more evidence.
If you spend a lot of time daydreaming about ideas you have but freeze when it comes time to put pen to paper.
If you already write a good amount but feel like it’s missing something…missing your “essence” or perhaps you’re not going deep enough or not getting to the point as you wish you could.
If you have a million ideas but struggle taking them to the finish line.
If you’re a weirdo like me and want to create in a community of weirdos for inspo.
If you’ve done one of my previous creative challenges, this version is EVEN MORE UNHINGED—think fewer rules, more chaos, and a heavier emphasis on collaboration and fearless creation.
WHAT YOU GET:
✅ 4 writing prompts per week – creative fire-starters to obliterate blank page paralysis (songwriting, poetry, storytelling—whatever you need to get unstuck).
✅ 1 cowrite per week – because screaming into the void is more fun with friends.
✅ Weekly Zoom creation calls – a structured but chaotic space to summon inspiration and make stuff, together.
✅ Optional group chat – for idea swaps, artistic meltdowns, and unhinged support.
THE END “GOAL”:
The point of this challenge is not to have a perfectly polished finish piece, but rather, to fall in love with the process of creation. To tune into your your unique creative heartbeat and rhythm. To both honor your nature and push yourself in ways that feel brave, not overwhelming. Show up fully, and by the end of these five weeks, you won’t just have fresh work to show for it. You’ll have started to rewire your brain to create without all the second-guessing. You won’t just “get unstuck”—you’ll make fearless, gut-punching art that actually excites you again.
Your art might take the shape of:
✨ a song
✨ a poem
✨ a short story
✨ a lyric
✨ an essay
✨ an interpretive dance
✨ a letter to a loved (or hated) one
✨ a visual piece
✨ or something totally unexpected
You’re encouraged to explore freely, though most folks tend to work with art that’s written, spoken, or sung.
This is your creative jailbreak. LET’S GO. The séance begins May 1st.

Who even is this chick?
I’m not here to be your guru or your glittery internet coach with a perfect morning routine and a ring light. I’m here because I can’t not make stuff, and I believe you can’t not either. Maybe you’ve been blocked. Burnt out. Maybe you’ve been doubting whether what you make matters. I get it. I’ve lived it.
But I’ve also seen firsthand what happens when you give your creativity just a little oxygen. Magic. Goosebumps. Big laughs. Tears. Breakthroughs. The good kind of chaos and clarity that gives you a surge of excitement and a pep in your step.
I’ve written songs that won awards, ended up in TV shows, films, and even kids’ animation. (If you’ve got little ones, there’s a chance they’ve already danced to my songs without knowing it.) I’ve taught hundreds of humans—middle schoolers, grandmothers, introverts, overachievers, artists who forgot they were artists—how to trust their weird, wild voice again. I’ve been running these online creative challenges for 5+ years and they have been a sanctuary to hundreds of artists.
And let me be real with you: I’ve spent most of my adult life trying to seem “professional” enough to be taken seriously. Polished or buttoned-up enough. But I’ve realized so much of our unique gifts are born and flourish in messy, human, playful spaces. Allow me to create and hold that space for you.
This is your permission slip to unmask. To show up in your pajamas, with your whole heart. To make something messy, human, raw, and magnificent. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be you.
Let’s make some glorious noise.

"I'm breaking through walls that have been there for years. I can't emphasize enough the fact that I came into this challenge so casually, and now it's literally become life-changing. And not because of what I'm doing, but just because I'm DOING. Focused, every day, at least for a few minutes."

- Former Creative Challenge participant
-
"Best money I think I might have ever spent!! The accountability, prompts, support, encouragement, feedback, collabs & challenges made it so fun. Love how each day is something different. This group made me not only show up every day for them, but show up for myself as apparently I had forgotten how/ not allowed myself to do that. Highly recommend."

-
"I can't begin to tell you how empowering it was to have participated, experienced, witnessed, and shared such a thing, with this special group of people. It was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Take the leap. You just might find yourself."

⚠️ WARNING⚠️
This challenge has side effects.
After participating in the Unhinged Creative Challenge for 5 weeks, you might start to notice:
Uncontrollable creative outbursts. Spontaneous idea generation at inconvenient times, including showers, traffic, and 3 AM.
Rapid dissolution of impostor syndrome. Commonly buried in an unmarked grave alongside perfectionism and that one embarrassing email you sent in 2014.
Hyperactive brain-to-page reflex. An insatiable urge to document your most feral, unfiltered thoughts. Symptoms include excessive journaling, meme-making, and texting yourself ideas at ungodly hours.
Loss of external validation dependency. May cause dizziness, liberation, and a reckless disregard for other people's opinions.
Creative whiplash. Side effects may include feeling unstoppable, making art you actually love, and forgetting why you ever hesitated in the first place.
No known antidote. Proceed at your own risk.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: I’m a total beginner. Is this challenge right for me?
If you’re willing to jump into something new with both feet and be honest with yourself along the way, this challenge will rock your world. Every single person has a creative life force inside—it’s just a matter of tapping into the goodness that’s already there.
If you're expecting to write a NYT Best Seller or top the Billboard charts, this probably isn’t for you. In this challenge, we’re detaching from polished outcomes. We’re honoring the unique voice that wants to come through, and championing PROCESS and effort above all else. In my experience, this is the only way to true creative fulfillment.
If that sounds good to you, welcome.
Q: I’m already comfortable being very honest in my creativity. Is this challenge for me?
If you're writing at maximum honesty and feel fully satisfied with your creative community and overall life enjoyment—dang, how’d you do it??
Also: this challenge is probably still for you.
If your ego says otherwise, don’t bother.
Q: I’m already an established songwriter/poet/writer. Is this challenge still for me?
Same as above. If you’re established but feel like you’ve hit a plateau—or like you're on the verge of something new—it’s time to mix it up and challenge how you relate to your craft. Join us.
Q: Are you offering a money-back guarantee for this course?
Nope, all sales are final. And like everything in life, you get what you put in.
Q: Are there live calls with Justina?
Yes—there are five 77-minute live calls via Zoom. We’ll do a quick check-in, a creative pre-game (very excited about these!!), and then silently write our respective pieces. I’ll offer an optional prompt for each call. At the end, a few people will be invited to share what they created.
You’d think writing alone on a muted Zoom call would feel the same as writing alone-alone… but somehow these calls are always magical and full of surprises. It’s like we get to borrow each other’s flow state while still doing our own thing. Ripe with creative juices!
Q: Will the calls be recorded?
Yes! Each call will be recorded and available via an unlisted YouTube link.
Q: Are you going to offer this challenge again?
No. I may offer 3–4 challenges a year, but each one has its own unique flavor. This time? It’s unhinged.
Every group carries its own lessons and energy. If you’re feeling drawn to this particular offer and vibe, I say pull the trigger.
Q: When’s the deadline to join?
We begin May 1st. Deadline to join is also May 1st!
Q: How long will I have access to the challenge?
You’ll have lifetime access to the private Facebook group, though the group will close for active posting after the challenge ends. After that, you’ll still have read-only access.
Q: I’d love to do this but I have a busy schedule. How much time do I need to carve out and still get some benefit?
The black-and-white answer is: around 10 minutes a day (anytime in your day) is enough to make a difference. But honestly? That’s not the full picture.
Some people barely participate during the challenge—and months or even years later, a prompt or moment will rise up in them and unlock something big. This experience is designed for people with full lives and busy schedules. You can engage with the prompts any time of day or night. There’s no “behind,” no grade, no gold star.
That said, if you feel a yes to this challenge—even if you’re not sure how it’ll fit into your life—I encourage you to go for it. Trust the timing. Follow your curiosities. Let yourself be surprised by what flows through when you make even a little bit of space for your creativity.
I genuinely don’t believe it’s possible to show up “too much” or “too little.” But making a commitment to yourself—to carve out even small pockets of time just for you—will be powerful.
Q: I want to make sure I understand the time commitment. What is scheduled and what is not?
The only scheduled part of the challenge are the live Zoom calls. If you miss a call, it’s no problem! The replays will be available. Everything else you can do in your own time.
Q: I want to do this but I’m worried it’s too intense/not intense enough for me.
The amazing thing about this challenge is it’s very much “choose-your-own-adventure”! I offer an accountability buddy option if you’re looking for more of a kick in the butt. If you’d rather go slowly as you discover your own creative rhythm, I encourage that! Set your own pace - I (and the group) will support you in whatever you choose!
Q: I have a specific creative project that I am working on, but I have writer's block. Will this help me break through the wall?
Yes! There will absolutely be space to work on your specific project—and often, people find that the prompts naturally fuel or unlock something in their current work. That said, the real magic of this challenge comes when you allow yourself to step outside the box a bit. If you only focus on your outside project and aren’t open to exploring the other prompts, you might miss some of the unexpected breakthroughs that come from trying new things.
Think of it like cross-training for your creativity—the prompts are designed to shake up your habits, get you out of your own way, and reconnect you to your creative spark. So yes, bring your project along, but also leave a little room for surprise. That’s where the real breakthroughs tend to happen.
Q: How will I know my creativity—and the fullness of me—will be safe in this group?
The short answer: I can’t guarantee you’ll feel safe at all times. Sometimes creative uplevels can feel really icky.
What I can promise is that I do not tolerate hate speech of any kind. I am an unapologetic ally to People of Color, LGBTQ+ people, Disabled people, and anyone who’s ever felt “othered” or on the fringe of society. I am devoted to you and the fullness of your expression. I reserve the right to remove anyone from the challenge if their comments or shares don’t align with these values. They will receive a full refund.
Also important: While I’m deeply fascinated by human behavior and various therapeutic modalities, I am not a certified therapist—and this challenge does not replace 1:1 healing work with a trained professional. If a prompt touches something too tender or deep, and you’re not ready to go there, please pause before proceeding. You may be better supported by a therapist at that moment, and that’s okay. I trust the wisdom of your inner knowing.
